In Chiatura a desolate industrial city, time stands still. Two elderly sisters, Lily and Tatyana live on the city's edge. Lily works as a Cableway conductor, while Tatyana is unemployed. Their idyllic world crumbles when Lily seizes an opportunity to leave Chiatura for another city with her daughter. On their farewell day, tension escalates as Tatyana hopes for a change of heart but knows this is her last chance to escape and reunite with her daughter.
